Bollywood Cheer: World Kabaddi League
Zoo Fever London Cheerleaders, managed by CHEER PRO™ Teams, were hired to be the official cheerleaders for the World Kabaddi League and perform at the O2 Arena in London and the LG arena in Birmingham. The Kabaddi World League had a very specific brief, which let our cheer creativity unleash wildly, as it asked us to combine:
High energy but professional cheerleading dancers to a Bollywood theme
Styled and choreographed fit for a family audience
Including highest level of cheer stunts / actobatics
Mix of sideline live on TV and half-time entertainment

On this project we worked with Bollywood choreographer Sylvester Peters, who as working as the official league's entertainment choreographer and helped us to get inspired with the Bollywood theme and the high energy required for our ongoing performance.
So what was it like cheering for Kabaddi? The Bollywood twist was incredibly fun: and the choreography process vas very 'happy' and inspiring. The Bollywood culture is one of festivity and celebration, so it was really good fun to bring additional positivity to cheer!
Kabaddi in itself is a very fast (and may we add BRUTAL!) sport which combines tag with wrestling.
Raids happened ever 30 seconds or so, and over 4 hours that is A LOT of cheering to do!! With music coming on almost continuously, pompoms were shaking, legs were kicking and stunts were flying about all afternoon. Definitely an intense workout, but incredibly rewarding and we cannot wait to do this again next year!
